It was worth its 3 stars. The restaurant was located within 200 feet. Comfy bed in double room with cable TV and television. Not to mention free WiFi.

Cozy little place to sleep and rest while exploring NYC. Clean and very comfortable with, wi-fi, fridge and plenty of toiletries for those of us who travel light. Price was great, room was quiet and shared bath was clean and shower worked well. Also other people who stayed there were quiet and polite. Great place to stay for clean comfort and if you are just stopping in to rest.

Cozy hotel in the middle of action and warm, helpful staff throughout our stay. even the shared bathroom did not cause any inconvenience. Also we were able to store luggage for the day before our nighttime flight which gave us more time to explore the city.
It was a challenge getting used to the noisy pipes at night.

Cute, quaint vintage hotel. Bedlinens were ultra clean and attractive. Bathroom immaculate. It's not the Ritz. For those looking to not spend a fortune it is a clean, attractive, centrally located choice I recommend. The Petite Abeille next door is another big plus!

The staff were instantly very welcoming and friendly. We developed a problem with our window halfway through our stay, and they were so quick and eager to fix it, which was lovely. Room was always very clean when we came home for the day. We were in one of the rooms with a shared bathroom, which was not a problem and the bathroom was always very clean.
Only problem with this place is the noise at street level - there is a nightclub a couple of doors down. The hotel did provide us with earplugs, and the noise level is not really their fault. If you're really sensitive to noise, then try asking for a room at the back of the hotel, but then again, this is Manhattan, so there's going to be noise wherever you are!

Found people helpful - great location. I was able to check out, leave my luggage at hotel while I shopped to return late that evening. Very nice.
Sharing the bathroom was not a problem - only share with one other room - and that room was empty. woohoo

It's very convenient for Chelsea, Union Square, the East and West Villages and lower Midtown. So the location is excellent for drinking, eating out and shopping. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful and the rooms are large and are kept clean and tidy. It's not luxury -- it's budget so don't expect a 5-star experience. It's a small, clean hotel in a brilliant location.
There are no elevators -- so you have to haul your luggage up long flights of stairs. It's a little tiring going up and down the stairs each day -- and especially at the end of a long day and night... You also have to share a bathroom which is not for everyone.

breakfast, available in next-door bakery, is really a breakfast snack. tastes fine, but slightly skimpy. Also advertised free wi-fi was not working...

We found a cockroach the first night, and a mouse ran behind our closet the second day. Our last night we were woken up at 230am to a horrible noise in the bathroom. It was raining quite hard outside and we discovered that our toilet, sink and shower drains were spurting up a substance of a disgusting smell and color. We were worried it would overflow into our room and moved all of our luggage onto furniture. It still didn't give us the peace of mind to go back to sleep though because we worried we would have to evacuate at any given moment. The staff made some excuse about it being a regular occurrence. We will never return to this hotel and I will let people, including Booked.net know how awful it actually is. It was nearly $200CAD/night and definitely not worth it.

Basic & very Good, would stay here again. Likes: refridgerator in room, clean, Sink in room, safe in room, convenient location. Like having an apartment in Manhattan. Shared bath not a problem, my first time.
